Widder Bar is Best Long Eller Bar "in Switzerland
The Zurich Widder Hotel is again recorded a prestigious industry award: The Widder Bar was recently voted as part of the "Swiss Bar Awards for" Best Long Eller Bar. The award honors a location that is at least ten years as "In-Place" is recognized and has a consistently good public approval. The awards ceremony by a high-profile special jury was the highlight of this year's Swiss Barmesse "Swiss Bar World.
The sympathetic in a combination of contemporary art, historical heritage and precious furniture designed Widder Bar is one of Zurich's most popular meeting places. Host and chef behind the counter is Markus Blattner: Established in 2008 by the business magazine "Bilanz" with the title "bar manager of the year" Dear Blattner invites into his "Library of Spirit", which more than 1,000 different witty drops, including cocktails, champagne, more 40 tequila varieties and 250 single malt whiskeys on offer has. In the extensive whiskey collection are in addition to some selected rarities - like a 40 year old Macallan Gordon & McPhail and an old Black Bowmore 1964 - a number of excellent whiskey of the Highlands, Midlands, Lowlands, the Isle of Islay, Isle of Jura, Isle of Skye and to find Speyside.
Herbst, whiskey and jazz - these three elements form in the Zurich Widder Hotel traditionally a particularly harmonious chord. The stylish, rustic atmosphere of the Widder Bar occur in spring and autumn every second Tuesday of the month outstanding jazz artists from around the world. Also this season will again inspire a handpicked team to score Widder Bar in six dates from late October to late January 2010. Beginning of this year's Jazz-Herbst is the BrasilSpecial 27 October: Eliane Elias will enchant audiences with timeless songs from the rich collection of Brazilian Bossa Nova, which interprets the singer and pianist in a perfect manner. The artist is exclusive to the Widder Bar their only concert Switzerland. A stirring concert experience promises to swing virtuoso Jürg Morgenthaler on 3 November with "100 Years Benny Goodman. Furthermore, is the Grammy-winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard (10th 11:09), the Anke Helfrich Trio (1 12.09), the tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander (19 1.10) and Freddy Cole, brother of Nat "King" Cole, with his velvety intonation popular jazz standards, pop tunes and ballads on the program (26 1.10).
